Freedom from depression: Edition 2 (Indoor event)

On the 19th of August, 2023, Sachkhand Foundation, organized the “Freedom from Depression” event in Kamla Nagar. This event aimed to raise awareness about depression, provide valuable insights from speakers and mentors, and promote emotional healing through music and interaction. The event was held in an open mic format where it featured a diverse panel of speakers and mentors who shared their personal experiences with depression and offered guidance on how to tackle various mental health issues.

Their stories served as a source of inspiration and encouragement for attendees. They discussed various aspects of depression, including its causes, symptoms, and coping strategies. The speakers emphasized the importance of seeking help and breaking the stigma surrounding mental health issues. Further, we all know that music plays a huge role in healing one’s nervous system, therefore, Live performances were held  by musicians that created an emotionally charged atmosphere, which resonated with the theme of healing. One of the unique aspects of the event was the emphasis on interaction and connection. Attendees were encouraged to engage in meaningful conversations with each other in the form of discussion, which helped attendees open-up about their own experiences with depression and create connections with others who could relate. The event concluded with a heartwarming “Free Hug” initiative. Volunteers and organizers offered free hugs to attendees, and people outside, spreading warmth and comfort. This gesture aimed to remind everyone that they were not alone in their struggles and that human connection is a powerful force for healing.

The “Freedom from Depression” event by Sachkhand Foundation was a significant step in the ongoing effort to address and destigmatize depression and other mental health issues. It provided a platform for open discussions, offered practical guidance, and promoted emotional healing through music and interaction.
