The Sachkhand foundation, with the support of Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) organized “Rukh Langar” on the auspicious occasion of Prakash Purab of Guru Har Rai Ji. The event was held on 3rd February, 2023 at Shri Gurudwara Bangla Sahib where more than 10,000 medicinal plant saplings were distributed to the sangat and more than 100 volunteers were present for the Sewa.
This event aimed a distributing all the medicinal plants including Neem and Tulsi along with educating the attendees about how these plants have been traditionally used in Ayurveda for their healing properties and are known to have several benefits, such as boosting the immune system, improving digestion, and relieving stress. A day prior to the event, with the help of the logistics team, all the plants were brought to the Gurudwara and were kept accordingly to their places. The event was inaugurated by the President of the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) and the Granth Head of the Gurudwara by performing an Ardaas, seeking divine blessings for the success of the event. The event was attended by a large number of people from all walks of life, including students, professionals, and senior citizens. The participants were briefed about the benefits of medicinal plants and were educated on how to grow and nurture them. The volunteers were also encouraged to share their experiences with the plants and spread the message of their benefits to others. Each and every person who was attending the event seemed enthusiastic enough to know more about the plants and how to nurture them. Furthermore, At the end of the event, the volunteers cleaned up the space and made sure that the area was left clean and tidy. The attendees were also encouraged to keep the area clean and dispose of their waste in the bins provided. The event was well-organized, and the volunteers did an excellent job in ensuring its smooth running.
Overall, the event was a great success in promoting sustainability and conservation of nature, and the organizers were committed to continuing their efforts to make a positive impact on the environment and it successfully raised awareness about sustainability and conservation of nature. The attendees left the event with a newfound appreciation for nature and a commitment to plant more trees in their communities.
